Description
- Bug: TDS Shows Cumulative Amount Instead of Current Month's Deduction
Issue Type: Bug
Module: Partner Share Calculation / Monthly Closing
Priority: High
- Description
In the Share Calculation screen, TDS appears to be calculated cumulatively instead of showing only the TDS applicable to the selected month.
For example, in the September 2026 Share Calculation for Aditya Pawan Sharma (INVESTOR) at Mahalok Dhaba – ChargeJet, the system displays:
- Your Share: ₹1,13,352.88
- TDS Deducted: ₹9,616.05
- Net Share: ₹1,03,736.83
The TDS amount needs to be verified to ensure it represents only the deduction applicable to September 2026 and does not include deductions from previous months.
- Steps to Reproduce
1. Open Monthly Closing for a station.
2. Select a partner with TDS deductions.
3. Open the Share Calculation details for a specific month.
4. Review the TDS (tax) deducted amount.
5. Compare the displayed TDS with the TDS calculated for the selected month and the partner's share for that month.
- Actual Result
TDS appears to be cumulative rather than limited to the selected month's applicable deduction.
- Expected Result
The Share Calculation screen should display only the TDS applicable to the selected month, calculated using the configured TDS rate and the eligible amount for that month.
Previous months' TDS deductions must not be included in the current month's deduction unless explicitly required by the configured tax rules.
- Acceptance Criteria
1. TDS is calculated and displayed correctly for the selected month.
2. Previous months' TDS deductions are excluded from the current month's TDS calculation.
3. The TDS amount shown in the summary matches the amount used to calculate the Net Share.
4. Historical monthly calculations remain accurate and are not unintentionally modified.
5. The calculation is verified for `PERCENTAGE`, `FIXED`, and `REMAINDER` share types, wherever applicable.
6. The calculation is tested for partners with and without previous-month TDS deductions.
- Investigation Notes
- Verify whether TDS is calculated using the current month's eligible share or a cumulative partner balance.
- Check whether the TDS calculation logic incorrectly aggregates deductions across multiple monthly closing periods.
- Confirm that the summary and calculation breakdown use the same monthly TDS value.
Business Impact: Incorrect monthly partner payouts and potentially inaccurate financial reporting.
